Essex Communities Are Really Pet-Friendly
We know how important pets are to our residents. That's why we believe it's so important that our apartment communities be pet friendly. Yet we do have to mention that at Essex, we have some minor pet breed restrictions, which can be seen under each community’s pet policy.[LM1]

We Believe Your Pet Should Be Comfy, Cozy and Happy
Our pets are such an important part of our lives. That's why we feel it's so important that all pet owners do their best to ensure their pets live a comfortable, happy life.
That's why we believe it's our responsibility, at Essex, to do our part in making our residents' pets happy and comfortable. That's not just lip service; we really work hard at making your pet happy.
That's why we host organized events such as Dress Your Pet Day. (Ever seen a Chihuahua strutting its stuff dressed up as Superman, cape included? That'll tickle your funny bone!)
And that's why we offer amenities such as our Pet Spaw, offering your pet the opportunity to luxuriate in some indulgent TLC.
At Essex, Your Pets Are At Home
Our goal is to make your pets feel just as much at home in your Essex apartment as you. We feel it's important that your pet be as comfortable as any other member of your family. If you're already a pet owner, you know how important that is.
And if you're not a pet owner yet?
According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, owning a cat or dog may decrease your risk of suffering from cardiovascular disease. And owning a dog can increase the long-term survival rate of those who have suffered a heart attack.
Here are some of the benefits:
- Pets help to reduce aggression and make us feel more positive
- Pets help to lower our stress levels, evidenced by lower levels of stress indicators such as cortisol, epinephrine and norepinephrine
- Pets help to lower blood pressure and improve heart rate
- Pets can even lessen the severity of chronic pain
- Pets may help to strengthen the immune system
You might decide to become a pet owner in the future. When that time comes, both you and your new companion will be quite happy that you happen to be living in a very pet-friendly community.
